Historic & Listed Buildings

JWA has over 20 years experience of working with important historic and listed buildings of all sizes and designations, from a new restaurant and café for St Paul’s Cathedral to rural farmhouses. Projects range from wholesale refurbishment to conversions and extensions, often involving complex negotiations with conservation officers, English Heritage and other statutory consultees.

Refurbishment & Interior Design

Our team has an extensive track record in updating older buildings to suit contemporary lifestyles. This often requires a comprehensive reassessment of heating and lighting strategies and remodeling Victorian or 20th Century houses to suit modern expectations of comfort and convenience. We strive to place the family at the heart of the home which often revolves around open plan kitchen and living spaces.

Replacement Houses & New Build

When the opportunity arises to create a new home tailored to the specific needs of the client in a unique landscape setting; JWA is well placed to rise to the challenge, with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of both historic and modern design methods. Whether utilising traditional materials and techniques or elegant creations in steel and glass the right design will often surpass client expectations.
