This substantial St John’s Wood House in London was refurbished and extended to provide some 5,000 sq ft of high quality accommodation. The client was keen to replace the dated neo-Georgian interior with a clean contemporary look whilst simultaneously optimizing the flow and airiness of the interior.
A new steel glass and timber staircase was created to link and unify all levels of the house. The basement was extended to accommodate a gym, games room, utility and storage space. This allowed precious space to be freed up in the light filled rooms on the ground floor. The kitchen, dining, sitting room and music room flow into the redesigned garden, this ground floor accommodation all works beautifully for modern family living.
