This new build house in Wimbledon involved the comprehensive rebuilding of an unremarkable 1960s house. With only three walls remaining, the original property was unified with white render to replace the original confused arrangement of the tile and brickwork facades.
The footprint of the original garage was taken up to first floor level to create a guest suite above. The rear of the house was extended out to create a dramatic, corner glazed generous family room. Above this extension two new good-sized children’s rooms were created to work with the original two bedrooms and bathrooms above. A light and airy modern, contemporary family home has been created in this peaceful garden setting.
